This encompasses both the shows themselves and when "celebrity" chefs appear on mainstream TV shows and centers on the average Joe and Jane in meal preparation. What gets to me is the use of ingredients that are either not readily available or are costly. Bobby Flay was giving a demonstration the other day for a make at home dish that required several items such as fresh nutmeg, white asparagus, cup of pecans and a few other goodies that my local market does not carry. Pecans are not cheap, Bobby, and plantains? Maybe if I hit the Spanish market 30 miles away. This was suppose to be a budget meal but when you make seven figures like Bobby it probably is. That brings me to Sandra Lee who is exceptional in both looks and kitchen style. Sandra actually uses off the shelf items for meals that anyone can do for a reasonable price.
